I forgot to restate the name of my blood cancer, and a few of you have reminded me that it would be helpful. Sorry about that. It is known as CLL and is a cancer of the white blood cells (which follows that is is also a disease of the immune system). It is a chronic and relatively slow growing blood cancer compared to the ones with "blastic" somewhere in the name. Most of patients who die from it, die of pneumonia because of their compromised immune systems and susceptible lungs. I was diagnosed a year ago August, and doctors agree that I have had it for 3 to 4 years already.
Which reminds me, I will soon be sporting my face masks again as the flu season revs up!
Thanks for reminding me...
